Autumn Adventures: Our Visit to Garsons Pick Your Own Pumpkin Parade

There’s something truly magical about autumn, golden leaves, cosy jumpers, and of course, pumpkin picking season! This year, we set out on a family adventure to Garsons Pick Your Own Pumpkin Parade, one of the most colourful and joyful pumpkin patches you’ll find.

After booking our tickets online, we waiting eagerly for the day to arrive!

We drove through Garsons’ Pick Your Own farm, following the signs for the Pumpkin Parade (note there are no toilets n the farm so make sure you top in at the farm shop before you go into the PYO). Excitement built as we reached the parking area, grabbed a wheelbarrow, and made our way down the path lined with tall dried corn stalks,  the perfect autumn photo backdrop for little explorers (and parents, too!).

As we stepped into the pumpkin patch, we were suddenly surrounded by hundreds of pick your own pumpkins in every imaginable shape, size, and shade. From tiny orange gems to giant green beauties, it really was pumpkin heaven!

Right by the entrance, a cosy hot drinks van was serving much-needed caffeine for grown-ups, the ideal start before setting off to find that perfect pumpkin. ☕️

We wandered through the fields, wheelbarrow filling fast, taking photos beside the giant display pumpkins and soaking in the crisp autumn air. My youngest absolutely loved choosing “the biggest one ever” and spotting the quirky shapes and walking between all the pumpkins. 

The Pumpkin Parade itself was magical, a trail of fairy-tale scenes with a spooky Halloween twist. Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage, cheeky skeletons, and glowing jack-o’-lanterns turned the day into a full-on autumn storybook adventure.

Along the route, we stopped to play family-friendly games like knock-down cans, skeleton puzzles, and noughts and crosses, with lots of laughter in between.

Before heading home, we ended our visit in the cosiest way possible, toasting marshmallows over an open fire, chatting about our favourite pumpkins of the day, and already planning our return next year.
