Kids Crafting How to Make Egg Box Caterpillars

With just a few crafting bits and a sprinkle of imagination, your little rays of sunshine can create their own colourful critters in no time!

This is a great  kids crafting activity, super easy and fun.

 What You’ll Need:

How to Make Egg Box Caterpillars

  • 1 cardboard egg box

  • Scissors (adult help needed here)

  • Paints or felt-tip pens

  • Paintbrushes

  • Pipe cleaners (for antennae)

  • Tissue paper and Glue if you want to make a little caterpillar nest

Step 1: Snip and Shape
Cut a strip of the egg box lengthways  long makes a great adult caterpillar body and a short one for a baby one. Trim the edges a little if needed so it sits flat. It's better if a adult does this stage for little ones for safety.

Step 2: Paint and Decorate
Here comes the fun part! Let the kids paint their caterpillars however they like. Bright stripes, spots, or even a rainbow pattern—there are no rules here. Leave the paint to dry fully before moving on.
